These are used to increase the life of chains & it helps in reducing wear to the sliding part. As it has a very low co-efficient of friction chains slides easily without much effort or initial torques at both the pulley ends above all it is best suited for bottling plants as it reduces noise level & outperforms in increasing the chain life without any greasing.
